5th U.S. Adaptive Open Field Announced; Deloitte Continues Commitment to Championship

The United States Golf Association (USGA) today announced the field for the 5th U.S. Adaptive Open Championship, to be played at Woodmont Country Club in Rockville, Md., from July 6-8. Deloitte*, the official professional services sponsor of the USGA, will once again provide financial support in the form of travel-related expense reimbursements to each of this year’s 96 competitors.

Additionally, for the second year in a row, the final round of the U.S. Adaptive Open will be broadcast live on Golf Channel, made possible through Deloitte’s continued support. Deloitte’s commitment has helped expand the broadcast to three live hours of coverage, increase the number of cameras and enhance storytelling elements through the telecast. Golf Channel will also deliver comprehensive daily coverage of the championship, including highlights, reporter updates, interviews and scoring updates featured across Golf Today and Golf Central each day.

"Our relationship with the USGA is rooted in elevating every championship, and the U.S. Adaptive Open is one of the most powerful expressions of that commitment," said Vin Andriano, Partner, Chief Operating Officer, Deloitte Tax LLP. "Deloitte is proud to support the broadcast that brings these athletes' stories to a national audience — and equally proud to ensure that every competitor can get here and focus on what matters most: the game."

The USGA and Deloitte first teamed up in 2014 to elevate the game through strategy, innovation and fan engagement. In 2016, they announced their first multiyear professional-services sponsorship, marking a new era of collaboration. Since then, Deloitte has deepened its relationship with the USGA by providing strategic advisement across many aspects of the USGA’s business and developing the USGA App — an all-in-one destination that offers fans an immersive, intuitive and visually engaging championship experience.

“The U.S. Adaptive Open continues to grow because of Deloitte’s belief in the power of this championship,” said John Bodenhamer, USGA chief championships officer. “Sponsorships like this help create a more meaningful championship for players while bringing greater attention to their incredible stories and achievements.”

In addition to Deloitte’s coverage support, every player in the U.S. Adaptive Open field will receive travel-related financial assistance. This generosity allows all 96 competitors to participate with less financial burden, creating greater accessibility and ensuring players can focus on competing at the highest level.

“When the news came in that Deloitte would be contributing toward players’ expenses, I was really emotional because a lot of these guys are my friends,” said Kipp Popert, three-time U.S. Adaptive Open Champion. “I’m extremely fortunate to have three amazing sponsors, but so many players don’t and they really deserve the opportunity to play.”

Furthermore, the 5th U.S. Adaptive Open field has been announced.

The USGA received 250 entries for the 2026 U.S. Adaptive Open, and for the third year, 18-hole qualifiers were conducted by Allied Golf Associations (AGAs) at eight sites across the country. The field includes competitors from 34 states and nine countries. The championship’s youngest competitor is 15-year-old Tommy Morrissey of Palm Beach Gardens, Fla., and Dennis Walters, of Jupiter, Fla., is the championship's oldest player at 76 years old.

This year's Championship field will be comprised of 96-players, 18 of which are exempt under the various exemption criteria. The low overall female scorer and low overall male scorer from each qualifying site earned a spot in the Championship, totaling 16 medalists. The remaining spots were all allocated to qualifying, by Impairment Category and gender across all eight qualifying sites using an adjusted Score Differential

The championship is open to both male and female professional and amateur golfers with a World Handicap System™ Handicap Index of 36.4 or less and an eligible impairment confirmed by a WR4GD Pass. The impairment categories are as follows:

  • Intellectual Impairment
  • Lower Limb Impairment
  • Multiple Limb Amputee
  • Coordination Impairment (previously Neurological Impairment)
  • Seated Players
  • Short Stature
  • Upper Limb Impairment

The championship will be contested over 54 holes of stroke play, with a cut after 36 holes. Multiple sets of tees will be utilized. The current field is as follows:
