Bio
The Lansing, Mich., resident earned his first U.S. Senior Open start by advancing through local and final qualifying. He shot 72 at Orchard Ridge C.C., in Fort Wayne, Ind., before firing an even-par 70 at Manor Country Club, in Rockville, Md., to earn one of the six available berths. Nichols won the 2019 Golf Association of Michigan Mid-Amateur.
