Berliner navigated both stages of qualifying to earn his first U.S. Senior Open start. He shot 77 at Indiana (Pa.) Country Club and then posted a 4-under-par 66 to share medalist honors in the New Haven Country Club final qualifier. Skidmore is currently the assistant men's golf coach at Skidmore College, in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. He has served in that position since 2015. He also is the assistant golf pro at Hiland Golf Club, in Queensbury, N.Y., a post he has held since April 2015. Prior to that, he worked as an assistant pro at McGregor Links Country Club. He is a six-time Northeast New York (NENY) Section Player of the Year (2011-16) and is a nine-time NENY Section Assistant Player of the Year. Prior to turning 50, Berliner competed on the Minor League Golf Tour., winning the 2007 Christmas Classic.
