F-17: Top 40 leaders from the all-time PGA Tour Champions money list
The champion of The Open Championship in 1989 will be making his 13th U.S. Senior Open start. A native of Laurel, Neb., Calcavecchia moved to Florida with his family as a teenager. While competing in junior tournaments, he often competed against Jack Nicklaus' oldest son, Jackie, before moving on to play at the University of Florida. He turned professional in 1981 and proceeded to register 29 worldwide victories, including 13 on the PGA Tour. Besides his playoff win to claim The Open Championship at Royal Troon, Calcavecchia also finished runner-up in the 1988 Masters and tied for fourth in the 2011 iteration of the event. Since turning 50, he has won four PGA Tour Champions events, the last coming in the 2018 Boca Raton Championship.
