Winners Chosen for 2026 U.S. Senior Open Junior Poster Design Contest

Three juniors from Columbus, Ohio, have been chosen as the winners of the Youth Poster Design Contest for the 46th U.S. Senior Open, which will be contested July 2-5 at Scioto Country Club in Upper Arlington, Ohio.

“We’re thrilled to have these pieces of artwork represent the Columbus junior golf community at Scioto,” said Hank Thompson, senior director of the championship. “Learning about William’s family connection to the club and the Weaver sisters’ shared passion for both golf and art made this year’s contest particularly special. We’re excited for fans from across the country to experience their art on-site during the 46th U.S. Senior Open.”

Lewis’ family are longtime members of Scioto Country Club and have attended both of the course’s previous U.S. Senior Open championships. His grandfather, a Scioto member, served on the Communications Committee for the 1986 championship, while his immediate family became members in 2016, the club’s centennial year—when it also hosted the 37th U.S. Senior Open. In 2026, William’s artwork will tie together four generations of his family’s connection to both Scioto and the U.S. Senior Open, spanning four decades.

His design, along with the designs from the Weaver sisters, will be printed and distributed to juniors who attend the U.S. Senior Open and will be available at a variety of special events leading up to championship week. In addition, the winning designs will be uniquely featured on-site at Scioto Country Club during championship week.

Quote from the winners:

  • William Lewis, 9, of Upper Arlington, Ohio – “I love drawing, making art and also love golf. Someday I hope to play Scioto with my dad, so I thought that the contest was calling my name and that's what inspired me to make this piece of art. Also, I know that my great grandma, who played golf at Scioto until the age 96, would be really proud of me; one of the biggest reasons I entered this competition was for her.”

  • Grace Weaver, 9, of Upper Arlington, Ohio – “I wanted my art to be bold and unique. I am proud that my drawing was recognized, and I feel so lucky to be able to win.”

  • Pia Weaver, 11, of Upper Arlington, Ohio – “I wanted my drawing to incorporate history because Scioto has such historic roots in the golf world. It’s a huge honor to win!”

All youths’ ages 17 and under will receive complimentary admission to the championship with a ticket-holding adult. Tickets are available for purchase here.

The inaugural U.S. Senior Open Poster Contest was held in 2024, with Ishin Fujita, 13, of Carmel, Ind. and 10-year-old Sai Siddarth Kollu, of Pleasanton, Calif., selected as the winners.

Considered the world’s premier senior golf championship, the U.S. Senior Open is one of 15 national championships conducted annually by the USGA. The championship was first conducted in 1980, and past winners include Roberto De Vicenzo, Arnold Palmer, Padraig Harrington, Gary Player, Lee Trevino, Tom Weiskopf, Bernhard Langer and Jack Nicklaus. The 2026 U.S. Senior Open marks the 40th anniversary of the last U.S. Senior Open held at Scioto. In 1986, Dale Douglass claimed the trophy in wire-to-wire fashion with a final score of 5-under 279, barely defeating runner-up Gary Player. Last year’s U.S. Senior Open champion at the East Course of The Broadmoor in Colorado Springs, Colo., was Padraig Harrington.
