Zoe Cusack is in her first year as a member of the U.S. National Junior Team. From Potomac, Md., Cusack has signed to play for the University of Virginia this fall. She is a two-time Rolex American Junior Golf Association All-American and won back-to-back Maryland Girls’ Junior Amateur titles in 2024 and 2025. In 2025, Cusack was a member of the winning United States Junior Ryder Cup team, finished runner-up at the Girls’ Junior PGA Championship, and reached the Round of 32 at the 76th U.S. Girls’ Junior.
What was your reaction when you found out you made the U.S. National Junior Team? Who was the first person that you told?
Cusack: I was super excited when I got the call. Coach [Chris] Zambri texted me that afternoon and asked to set up a call, and I was like, oh no, but it ended up being great news and I was so excited to learn I made the team. I was practicing at the time, so I immediately went in and told my coach the news.
How has competing alongside other elite juniors on this team helped your game?
Cusack: It’s super helpful, it’s always great to learn from those around you. When you’re surrounded by such a great group of elite junior golfers, it’s such a great opportunity to learn from each other.
What are some things from USNDP training camps you’ll take home with you when you practice?
Cusack: Some of the tests we’ve done, like the line test, have been super helpful to go through, when I go home and practice, I certainly will apply those.
What is the strongest part of your game right now?
Cusack: My mental game. I don't get too flustered if things are going poorly. I’m good mentally, trusting my game and the work I’ve put in.
What is it like representing the United States at such a young age?
Cusack: It’s a very special feeling. We live in such a great country and to play for something bigger than yourself is an amazing opportunity that I am super grateful for.
