The Australian earned his third U.S. Open start by being among the top 60 in the Official World Golf Ranking as of May 23. In 2020, Herbert claimed his first European Tour (now DP World Tour) title at the Omega Dubai Desert Classic, and followed up by claiming the 2021 Dubai Duty Free Irish Open. His lone PGA Tour victory came in the 2021 Butterfield Bermuda Championship. As an amateur, he represented Australia in the 2014 World Amateur Team Championship.
