Final Qualifying: Shot 71 at Manor Country Club, in Rockville, Md., on June 15

Fink, a former professional bowler, will make his U.S. Senior Open debut after getting into the field as the first alternate from the Manor Country Club final qualifier, in Rockville, Md. He posted a 71 on June 15 and then won a four-man playoff for the first alternate spot. He was exempt from local qualifying, thanks to his victory in the 94th West Penn Senior Amateur Championship. Prior to taking up competitive golf, Fink competed on the Professional Bowlers Tour. He had a scholarship to James Madison for baseball, but a local businessman in Altoona, Pa., recommended he attend a one-week PBA school in Torrance, Calif., after graduating from Altoona High in 1988. He later competed against the likes of Pete Weber, Marshall Holman and Mark Roth. He finished third in the 1994 USBC Open Championship and also finished third in that year's Cincinnati Open. But when he tired of the traveling and lifestyle, he left the sport. He owns 90 certified 300 games and 55 certified 800 series (3-game totals). He was inducted into the Pennsylvania State Bowling Hall of Fame in 2023. On the golf course, he captured the 1999 Pennsylvania State Four-Ball title with partner Greg Ferguson. He also qualified for the 2005 U.S. Amateur Public Links at Shaker Run Golf Course outside of Cincinnati and he represented Pennsylvania in the 2010 USGA Men's State Team Championship with now-five-time USGA champion Nathan Smith and future U.S. Senior Amateur champion Sean Knapp. He also qualified for the 2013 U.S. Amateur held at The Country Club, in Brookline, Mass.
