Berliner navigated both stages of qualifying to earn his first U.S. Senior Open start. He shot 75 at Indiana (Pa.) Country Club and then posted a 4-under-par 66 to share medalist honors in the New Haven Country Club final qualifier. Berliner is currently the assistant men's golf coach at Skidmore College, in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. He has served in that position since 2015. He also has been the head teaching professional at Glen Falls Country Club, a 1912 Donald Ross design, since 2023. Prior to that, he worked as an assistant pro at McGregor Links Country Club. He is a 12-time Northeast New York (NENY) Section Player of the Year and a 13-time NENY Section Assistant Player of the Year. Prior to turning 50, Berliner competed on the Minor League Golf Tour., winning the 2007 Christmas Classic. He also owns four West Florida Tour victories.
