Final Qualifying: Shot 70 at Manor Country Club, in Rockville, Md., on June 15
The West Lafayette, Ind., resident carded an even-par 70 at Manor Country Club to earn his third U.S. Senior Open start. Sapp made the cut a year ago at The Broadmoor, finishing T-50. Sapp is about to enter his third season as the head coach of the Purdue University men's golf team, where he previously served as the team's assistant in the two years prior to landing the head gig. Sapp has taken the Boilermakers to the NCAA Championships in each of his two seasons as head coach. In 2024-25, he led Purdue to three victories. He also is one of a handful of coaches to take three different programs to the NCAA Championships (Purdue, North Carolina and Michigan). Sapp has also coached at East Carolina. He played for the University of North Carolina, which is where his coaching career began in 1993. He took the Tar Heels to five consecutive NCAA Championships.
