Bio
The Gaithersburg, Md., resident qualified for his second U.S. Senior Open after advancing from local and final qualifying. He shot 72 at Outdoor Country Club, in York, Pa., before firing an even-par 70 at Manor Country Club on June 15. Manor C.C. is Sampson's home course. Sampson missed the cut in the 2019 U.S. Senior Open at the Warren Golf Course at Notre Dame. Sampson won the 2023 Maryland Senior Amateur, but two years later was involved in a car accident that caused him back and neck pain.
