Two and a half weeks after turning 50, the Canadian will play in his maiden U.S. Senior Open after navigating both stages of the qualifying process. Daniel shot 70 in his local qualifier at Mill Creek Country Club and followed with a 67 in a final qualifier held on May 18 at Oakbrook Golf & Country Club, in Lakewood, Wash. Daniel played 55 events on PGA Tour Canada, while also playing in one Korn Ferry Tour event (Alberta Classic) and one PGA Tour event (Air Canada Championship). He resides in Richmond, British Columbia, Canada. For the last 28 years, the member of the PGA of Canada has operated the Matt Daniel Golf Academy.
