Local Qualifying: Shot 72 at Cartersville (Ga.) Country Club on April 27
Final Qualifying: Shot 71 at The Bear's Club, in Jupiter, Fla., on June 3
Bio
Kim got into the field as the first alternate from The Bear's Club qualifier, where he had shot 71 and was involved in a 5-for-2 playoff for the final two spots. He also carded a 72 at the Cartersville (Ga.) Country Club local qualifier. In 1994, he shot 12-under 132 to earn medalist honors at the U.S. Amateur. At the time, it set a stroke-play qualifying record previously held by Bobby Clampett and Sam Randolph. This will be his first U.S. Senior Open appearance.
