The former Oklahoma State University standout is set to make his second consecutive U.S. Senior Open appearance after missing the cut a year ago at The Broadmoor. Van Pelt turned professional in 1998 and he registered seven worldwide victories, including his lone PGA Tour triumph at the 2009 U.S. Bank Championship in Milwaukee. His father, Bob, was a standout football player who was drafted out of Indiana University in 1967 by the Philadelphia Eagles. He was a center. Van Pelt also won the 2003 Omaha Classic on the Nationwide Tour (now Korn Ferry Tour). In 2025, he collected his first win as a senior at the Staysure PGA Senior Championship on the European Senior Tour. His best major finish was a tie for eighth in the 2008 Masters.
