The Iowa City, Iowa, resident will compete in his first U.S. Senior Open after carding a 3-under-par 69 at Tuscany Falls Country Club's West Course on June 1. He also shot a 73 in his local qualifier at Oak Ridge C.C., in Hopkins, Minn. Over his career, Vest has qualified for two Korn Ferry Tour and one PGA Tour event (MC at 2024 John Deere Classic). He earned his John Deere start at the age of 51 by being the 2023 Iowa PGA Section Player of the Year. He works as a teaching pro at Lake House Sports. He also spent 11 years living in Portland, Ore. He's also a past winner of the Iowa Senior PGA Professional Championship.
