Navigated the two stages of qualifying to earn his first U.S. Open start. Posted a 69 at River Landing on April 29 and then was the medalist at Treyburn Country Club, in Durham, N.C., on May 19, carding a 3-under 69. The Wake Forest, N.C., resident played collegiately at Campbell University and turned professional in 1997. He's competed on the Tarheel Tour, Korn Ferry Tour, Canadian Tour and PGA Tour. Two of his six victories came on the Korn Ferry Tour: the 2008 BMW Charity Pro-Am and the 2010 Winn-Dixie Jacksonville Open. He also won three times on the Tarheel Tour and once on the Canadian Tour. He finished 13th on the Korn Ferry Tour money list in 2010 to earn his PGA Tour card for the 2011 campaign.
