The University of North Carolina alum and 1992 U.S. Junior Amateur runner-up qualified for his first U.S. Senior Open, surviving a 6-for-5 playoff at Miami Valley Golf Club. Wilson, a Greenville, S.C., resident, owns nine worldwide professional victories, including five on the PGA Tour. His last victory came in the 2012 Humana Challenge in the Coachella Valley. His maiden PGA Tour victory was the 2007 Honda Classic. Prior to enrolling at UNC, Wilson was the runner-up to Tiger Woods in the 1992 U.S. Junior Amateur. In 1996, he received the Ben Hogan Award for being the top collegiate golfer. He turned professional in 1997 and won three times on the NGA Hooters Tour before finally getting to the PGA Tour for the 2003 season. He now works full-time as a golf commentator for PGA Tour Radio on Sirius/XM.
