The German professional will make his second consecutive U.S. Senior Open start after posting a 3-under-par 67 at New Haven Country Club on May 27. Both his father and grandfather were golf professionals, with the former competing on the European Tour in the 1970s before settling into a club professional position. Gogele turned professional in 1991 at the age of 15 and four years later claimed the Open des Volcans on the European Challenge Tour. He also registered consecutive German PGA Championship victories in 1999 and 2000. He also owns one victory on the European Senior Tour, that coming in the 2024 Sergio Melpignano Senior Italian Open.
