The Sandpoint, Idaho, resident will make his third U.S. Senior Open start after being added to the field as the first alternate from the Lakewood, Wash., final qualifier. Gove had won a 2-for-1 playoff for first-alternate status after carding a 70. Born in Seattle, Gove played collegiately at Pepperdine University before turning professional in 1994. Of his 10 professional wins, three have come on the Nationwide Tour (now Korn Ferry Tour); the last came in the 2005 Oregon Classic. He also has won three times on the Gateway Tour. Gove qualified for one major championship, missing the cut in the 2004 U.S. Open at Shinnecock Hills.
