The 2021 U.S. Senior Open champion will make his fourth start in the championship. The West Chester, Pa., native who now resides in Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., claimed the 2003 U.S. Open at Olympia Fields (Ill.) Country Club for his lone major title, although he posted three other runner-up finishes in the championship. He also shared fourth in 2012. Armed with an unusual golf swing, Furyk, a former University of Arizona standout whose father, Mike, was an assistant golf pro, registered 17 victories during his tenure on the PGA Tour. Furyk shot a tour-record 58 at TPC River Highlands in the 2016 Travelers Championship. He also carded a 59 at Conway Farms in the 2013 BMW Championship. In 2010, Furyk won the FedExCup title and was named the circuit's player of the year. Furyk continued his success after turning 50 and joining the PGA Tour Champions, where he was the rookie of the year for the 2021 season. That included his U.S. Senior Open triumph at Omaha (Neb.) Country Club. At Arizona, Furyk helped the Wildcats to the 1992 NCAA title. Furyk represented the U.S. in nine Ryder Cup Matches and captained the team in 2018. He also competed in seven Presidents Cups and captained the side in 2024.
