The New Jersey native will make his first U.S. Senior Open start after navigating both stages of the qualifying process. He carded a 75 in his local qualifier at Metedeconk National Golf Club and then posted 1-under 69 at Manor Country Club, in Rockville, Md. In late May, Stamberger won the New Jersey State Senior Open at Suburban Golf Club. He also is a past champion of the Metropolitan Golf Association Amateur (2003). In 2013, Stamberger won the New Jersey State Amateur. He is a past champion of the New Jersey Mid-Amateur. In 2022, he won his fourth New York City Amateur title. He played his college golf at Old Dominion.
