In its continued effort to engage youth in the game, the USGA announced today the launch of its second Youth Poster Design Contest for the U.S. Senior Open Championship.
Multiple winners will be chosen, and their designs will be displayed on site at the 46th U.S. Senior Open, which will be contested from July 2-5 at Scioto Country Club, in Columbus, Ohio. The contest serves to celebrate and showcase the artwork of talented youths throughout the country. Submissions will be judged based on creativity and originality.
To enter the contest, entrants must print or download a copy of the official entry form, complete the form and create an original poster design in the designated area. The entry deadline is 11:59 p.m. EST on Friday, May 7. Winners will be announced on Tuesday, May 19.
“The Columbus community has a deep connection to golf, and the history of this game has deep ties to Scioto,” said Hank Thompson, senior director of the championship. “This contest provides a fun opportunity for juniors, both in Columbus and around the country, to engage with the championship in an exciting way. We look forward to displaying the winning designs and meeting some of the incredibly talented kids.”
The inaugural U.S. Senior Open Poster Contest was held in 2024, with Ishin Fujita, 13, of Carmel, Ind. and 10-year-old Sai Siddarth Kollu, of Pleasanton, Calif., selected as the winners. The artwork is not only displayed on site, but also printed and distributed to juniors who attend the U.S. Senior Open.
All youths aged 17 and under receive complimentary admission to the championship with a ticket-holding adult. Tickets are available for purchase here.
The contest is open to legal residents of all 50 states and the District of Columbia who are 17 and younger. Minors must have a parent/legal guardian’s permission to participate through a signed entry form. Eligible entrants under 13 must have a parent/legal guardian submit the entry form on their behalf. No purchase or payment is necessary to enter or win.
