2024 U.S. Senior Open: Frequently Asked Questions
The 2024 U.S. Senior Open will be held at Newport Country Club in Newport, Rhode Island.
Championship rounds will be held from Thursday, June 27 through Sunday, June 30th.
Mobile tickets, including instructions on how to access and utilize them, will be distributed electronically in the spring to the email address used at the time of purchase. All tickets for 2024 USGA championships will be delivered to recipients digitally via AXS Guest Services (guestservices@axs.com) and accessible via the USGA mobile app 30-60 days prior to the start of the championship.
The USGA has a strict no-refund policy on all USGA championships. However, tickets are transferrable.
Juniors aged 17 and under can request a complimentary Gallery ticket for any day of the event at the Ticket Office with a ticketed or credentialed adult. Maximum of four (4) Junior tickets of any age per ticketed or credentialed adult.
Junior tickets cannot be obtained in advance. They can be obtained at any ticket resolution area located at the main gates.
Note: Junior tickets do not provide access into any premium spaces or hospitality areas as specific tickets are required for access into each of those venues. Discounted Junior premium tickets, if available, can be purchased for Junior access into premium spaces on site.
No, the USGA does not have discounted tickets for senior citizens.
Yes, all USGA Championships are handicap accessible. For those hard of walking, we recommend using our free mobile scooters. Mobile scooters are available to use throughout the course on a first come, first serve basis by providing a personal ID. They cannot be reserved in advance and therefore, we recommend arriving early to the main gate.

Newport Country Club is located on the southern tip of Aquidneck Island in the City of Newport. Complimentary parking and shuttle transportation will be provided from two (2) general fan parking lots:
CASINO Lot

- Shuttles: Complimentary shuttles will be provided throughout the day (Thursday – Sunday) to and from the Gaudet Lot and Championship Gate 1.
There is no parking onsite at Newport Country Club. All other designated lettered parking lot locations are by permit only and require a USGA issued championship hangtag.
The military policy is extended to active and retired military members only. For the U.S. Senior Open, active and retired military members can request a complimentary Gallery ticket +1 guest ticket via an online registration process. All military tickets must be reserved in advance. The online process is being finalized and will be available by early spring in 2024. Tickets will be non-transferable and are for the policy holder only. Access mandatory registration process and view additional ticket information.
Note: Military cannot apply this discount to use to get into upgraded hospitality experiences
Yes. While staying in touch with friends and capturing your experience is encouraged, please note the following:
- Silence your mobile device and disable flash
- Make phone calls only in designated fan zones
- Mobile device use, photography, video, and audio recording are permitted throughout the course, but should not disrupt play
- Captured content may not be used for commercial purposes
- No live streaming or shot-by-shot coverage (with or without video) is permitted
- Violation of the mobile device policy may result in expulsion and loss of ticket privileges

During practice rounds, players will have the option of starting practice rounds on the first or 10th tee. Players electing to play a full round generally begin between 7:00 a.m. and 3 p.m. It is typical for players to be on the golf course or practice areas until at least 7 p.m. Gates are open 6:45am to 7pm. During Championship rounds 1 & 2, play is scheduled to begin at 7:00 a.m. from both the first and 10th tees. The last groups are scheduled to begin play at 2:36 p.m. from both the first and 10th tees. Gates are open from 6:45 a.m. to conclusion of play. During Championship rounds 3 & 4, the first starting time will be determined by the number of players who make the cut at the conclusion of the second round (60 lowest scorers and anyone tying for 60th place). Generally, the first pairing begins play from the first tee between 8-9 a.m.; the last pairing for Saturday will start from the first tee at approximately 12:45 p.m.; the last pairing for Sunday will start from the first tee at approximately 1:00 p.m. Gates are open from 7:00 a.m. to conclusion of play.

Please note that to expedite admission into the championship, it is recommended that all prohibited items are safely stowed prior to arriving. All fans will go through security screening prior to entering the grounds.
Yes, free WiFi will be accessible on the grounds during the Championship.
All paid and complimentary tickets for 2024 USGA Championships will be delivered to recipients digitally via AXS Guest Services (guestservices@axs.com) and accessible via the USGA Mobile App. Mobile tickets will be delivered to the AXS account utilized when purchasing or accepting transferred tickets. Fans will not be permitted to enter the gates without a digital ticket. Screenshots do not permit entry. No. Screenshots of our digital tickets will not provide access into the grounds. Tickets must be scanned directly from the QR code located in the USGA app.
Re-entry into the championship will be permitted. Individuals leaving the property and returning later must stop by gate 1, 3, 4, 5 or 8 and have their face scanned prior to exiting the championship to be eligible for re-entry.
