Farmington Country Club, in Charlottesville, Va., has been selected by the USGA as the host site for the 2027 U.S. Women’s Amateur Four-Ball Championship. This will be the first USGA championship hosted by Farmington since the 1993 U.S. Senior Amateur.

Nestled in the foothills of central Virginia's Blue Ridge Mountains, Farmington Country Club is steeped in a history stretching over 200 years. Portions of the Clubhouse, dating back to 1803, were designed by Thomas Jefferson. The club’s Main Course, designed by Fred Findlay in 1927, features 18 holes and plays to a par of 70. The club also features a 10-hole East Course, designed by Coore & Crenshaw in 2016.

There have been 21 USGA championships contested in the state of Virginia through the 2024 season, including the 43rd U.S. Mid-Amateur just last month at Kinloch Golf Club in Midlothian. The Omni Homestead Resort, located in Hot Springs, has hosted the most USGA championships in the Old Dominion state, including the 1966 Curtis Cup and 1967 U.S. Women’s Open. It will also host next year’s U.S. Senior Women’s Amateur.
The U.S. Women’s Amateur Four-Ball is open to female amateur golfers of all ages. Each member of the side must have a USGA Handicap Index® of 14.4 or lower. A starting field of 128 players, or 64 sides, will compete in two rounds of stroke play before the field is cut to the top 32 sides for match play. Five 18-hole rounds of match play will determine the finalists, who will square off in an 18-hole championship match.
The 2024 U.S. Women’s Amateur Four-Ball was held at Oak Hills Country Club in San Antonio, Texas, and was won by Sarah Lim and U.S. National Junior Team member Asterisk Talley, who went on to finish runner-up in both the U.S. Girls’ Junior at El Caballero Country Club and the U.S. Women’s Amateur at Southern Hills Country Club.
