Sister Acts Strong on Day 1 at The Home Course

Could we see a matchup of twins at The Home Course when the 8th U.S. Women’s Amateur Four-Ball Championship moves into the knockout stage on Monday? Both sets of twins in the field got off to strong starts on Saturday: 16-year-olds Siuue and Tsamue Wu, of Hong Kong China, posted a 4-under-par 68, with 25-year-olds Jessica and Sarah Spicer shooting a 69.

In all, four of the six sister duos in the field posted under-par rounds, the day’s best coming from Molly and Morgan Smith, of Westfield, Mass., who shot 66. A week before flying out to Washington, Molly, an incoming freshman at the University of Central Florida, nearly advanced out of U.S. Open local qualifying.

Camila and Sophia Burnett, of Bluffton, S.C. fired a 71 and are on the bubble for making match play.
