Bio

Sanders, an 11-time Alaska Amateur champion, earned his first U.S. Senior Open start by virtue of being the runner-up to Michael McCoy in the 2025 U.S. Senior Amateur at Oak Hills Country Club, in San Antonio,Texas. Sanders, at 61, also qualified for the 2025 U.S. Amateur at The Olympic Club, thanks to his Alaska Amateur victory. Sanders, who was born in Kansas City, Mo., spent many years as a petroleum engineer in Alaska. He recently retired and moved to Anthem, Ariz. He also was a longtime member of the U.S. Mid-Amateur Championship Committee. He attended the University of Missouri-Rolla.
