F-9: Winner of 2025 U.S. Senior Amateur
The native Iowan is set to make his ninth start in the U.S. Senior Open, thanks to his victory last August in the U.S. Senior Amateur. McCoy defeated Greg Sanders in the 18-hole final at Oak Hills Country Club, in San Antonio, Texas. He became the first player in USGA history to have won both the U.S. Mid-Amateur (2013) and U.S. Senior Amateur. McCoy has been named Iowa Player of the Year an unprecedented 11 times. He's competed in more than 60 USGA championships, and represented the USA in the 2015 Walker Cup Match. He also captained the 2023 USA side to a come-from-behind victory at the Old Course at St. Andrews. He won the 1994 Iowa Open as well as the 2022 R&A Senior Amateur. McCoy's son, Nate, also is an accomplished player who has competed alongside his did in a number of USGA championships.
