F-25: Winner of PGA Tour co-sanctioned event between 2020-2026
The former University of Florida standout will be teeing it up in his fifth consecutive U.S. Senior Open, thanks to his 2020 PGA Tour victory in the Bermuda Championship. That was one of five victories for Gay during his PGA Tour career. Although he was born in Texas, Gay spent a majority of his childhood living in Alabama as his father was a U.S. Army non-commissioned officer in flight operations. Gay helped lead Florida to four consecutive Southeastern Conference titles under legendary coach Buddy Alexander. The Gators also won the 1993 NCAA title. Individually, Gay was twice an SEC individual champion and was named the conference's Freshman of the Year in 1991, and was twice an All-American (1992, 1993). He represented the USA on the victorious 1993 Walker Cup Team at Interlachen C.C. As a pro, he registered 15 victories. His first PGA Tour win came in the 2008 Mayakoba Golf Classic in Mexico. He qualified for eight U.S. Opens, making two cuts.
