Set to make his 14th consecutive U.S. Senior Open start, Pernice Jr. is a six-time winner on the PGA Tour Champions. His last victpry came with partner Scott Hoch in the Bass Pro Shops Legends of Golf. In 2014, he defeated Jay Haas in a playoff to win the Charles Schwab Championship. During his regular-tour days, Pernice Jr. registered a pair of victories: the 1999 Buick Open and The International two years later. Pernice Jr. played collegiately at UCLA, where his teammates were future U.S. Open champion Corey Pavin, Duffy Waldorf, Steve Pate and Jay Delsing. In 1981, Pernice Jr. was named the Pacific-10 Conference's Player of the Year. He also was a two-time All-American.
