74th U.S. Girls’ Junior Set to Take Flight at Air Force Academy
The U.S. Girls’ Junior has been soaring to new heights over the past quarter-century with the quality of play and the number of accepted entries, which has topped the 1,000 mark every year since 2010 with a benchmark of 1,606 in 2018. This year, the championship is taking flight when the Eisenhower Golf Club (Blue Course) at the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colo., hosts the event’s 74th iteration. It is the first time in USGA history that one of the championships is being contested on a military venue.
Players, officials and volunteers will get a taste of Air Force Academy life by playing and serving the championship with honor and integrity, a high standard carried out at every military academy minus, of course, reveille at 0600, room/uniform inspections and proper salutes.
