The three highest-ranked American players in the World Amateur Golf Ranking® / WAGR® as of the July 10 update will earn automatic selections from the USGA onto the 2024 USA Curtis Cup Team.
The 43rd Curtis Cup Match against Great Britain & Ireland will be played at Sunningdale Golf Club, in England, Aug. 30-Sept. 1. The Match is played over three days with eight singles matches, six four-ball matches and six foursomes (alternate shot) matches. The USA leads the series that began in 1932, 31-8-3.
If an automatic selection declines any of these invitations, the spot will be offered to the next player based on the July 10 WAGR update.
The winner of the 2024 U.S. Women's Amateur Championship, set to take place Aug. 5-11 at Southern Hills Country Club in Tulsa, Okla., and the recipient of the 2024 McCormack Medal, should they be American, will also earn automatic spots onto the team, which will be captained by four-time USGA champion Meghan Stasi. The remaining players will be selected following the U.S. Women’s Amateur.
